A former Vintage Stock employee, Sok, just called me up. He left a message telling me that he needed to inform me of the horrifying things our former employer is doing. Apparently, they look like a Borders now. If anyone has ever been to Vintage Stock, you know the cool thing about the store was that it was so ghetto, unique, and had a Vintage Stock funk (the smell). Anyways, he told me they had big sign hanging over the departments with laughing kids on them just like at Target. They even took the Garth Brooks pin out of the ceiling. I guess no one really cares that much, but it's sort of sad to me. It used to be such a fun place to work. I really used to love that job. It's sad how things change.
Sok also reminded me of Chris. I had completely forgotten about him. Chris was this guy who worked for the store for about 2 weeks. He was sort of odd. One Sunday I was working with him when these two cops came into the store. One cop approached me at the counter and asked me if Chris Soandso was working. I thought about lying and then decided against it and pointed him out. He was organzing packs infront of the window. The cops surrounded him from either side and arrested him right there in the store. I remember we were so shocked, yet so pissed because we were short a person the rest of the day. Good old Chris. I wonder if he ever got out of prison?
Sometimes I miss working at that store.
